Wedding Photography FAQs

A few helpful answers before we chat about your wedding. From relaxed portraits to planning your coverage, here’s how I approach photographing your day. If your question isn’t covered, I’d love to hear from you.

Tell me which parts of the day matter most to you, from getting ready and the ceremony through to speeches, the first dance and evening celebrations. I’ll help you plan suitable coverage around your timings and locations, and confirm exactly what is included before you book.

HOW MUCH COVERAGE DO WE NEED?

Start by emailing me at info@dprphotography.co.uk with your wedding date, venue and a little about your plans. I’ll check availability and talk you through the options and next steps. If you’re still deciding, you’re welcome to ask questions first.

WE LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY! HOW DO WE BOOK?

Every wedding is different, so please get in touch with your date, venue and plans for the day. I’ll confirm my current pricing and help you choose the coverage that suits you, with a clear explanation of what is included before you book.

  • I photograph weddings in a documentary, candid way, letting the day unfold naturally so you can enjoy it. I look for real reactions and the little moments between the big ones. For couple portraits and family photographs, I give a little more direction when it helps.

  • Absolutely. You don’t need to be used to having your photograph taken. Most of the day I’m capturing what happens naturally, and when it’s time for portraits I’ll offer simple guidance. Let me know what makes you nervous so I can help you feel more at ease.

  • I’ll give you gentle direction rather than expect you to know how to pose. Couple portraits are a chance to spend a little time together, using the light and surroundings at your venue. We can talk about the photographs you love and fit them naturally around your plans.

  • Yes. Alongside the candid moments, I take a more organised approach to family and bridal-party photographs. Tell me which combinations matter to you and we can plan a manageable list, so the people closest to you are included without the photographs taking over the day.

  • My portfolio includes weddings in the North East and Lake District, and I’d love to hear where you’re planning yours. If your venue is further afield, send me the location and date so I can check availability and explain any travel arrangements before you book.

  • Rain doesn’t have to stop you enjoying your photographs. I take a calm, flexible approach and work with the conditions, whether that means sheltered spots, indoor window light or heading outside during a break in the weather. We can talk through a sensible wet-weather plan for your venue.

  • Of course. Ask me about the cameras, lenses and backup equipment I would bring to your wedding, and I’ll talk you through my current setup. I’m happy to answer practical questions before you book so you feel comfortable with your choice.

  • If you love the look and feel of 35mm film, ask me about adding it alongside your digital photographs. We can chat about how it would suit your wedding and I’ll confirm the current options, availability and what is included before you decide.

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS WILL WE GET?

The size of your finished collection depends on your coverage and how the day unfolds. I focus on a strong, varied story of your wedding rather than filling a gallery with repeated frames. Ask me what to expect for the coverage you’re considering.

Once I’ve confirmed availability and we’ve agreed the right coverage, I’ll explain the booking process and send you the details to review. Please contact me for the current payment and booking terms; I’ll make sure you have those before you decide.

HOW DO WE SECURE OUR DATE?

I carefully select and edit your photographs so the finished collection feels consistent with the work in my portfolio. Ask me about the current delivery timeframe, online gallery and download arrangements for your booking. I’ll also explain the personal printing and sharing permissions, so you know how you can enjoy your photographs.
